Pocket Pets Services

Pocket pets such as guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, rats etc. make wonderful first pets for children and adults alike and require routine preventive care exams just like our many dog and cat clients. College Manor Veterinary Hospital does have 2 veterinarians on staff who provide routine veterinary care to our clients with pocket pets as well as care for them when they are under the weather. Please call the clinic at 905-853-4706 to schedule your pocket pet’s preventive care exam today.

What pocket pets do you service?

Both Dr. Donais and Dr. Allison have experience with pocket pets such as rabbits, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs, degu’s, sugar gliders, chinchillas, and hedgehogs. Dr. Donais also sees our avian (bird) patients. Pretty much the only thing we don’t see here at College Manor Veterinary Hospital are reptiles i.e. anything with scales such as lizards, snakes, turtles, geckos etc.

What services do you provide for pocket pets?

We recommend all pocket pets come annually for their preventive care exams (just like cats and dogs), but our veterinarains also provide sick pet visits, nail trims, xrays, blood profiles and tooth trimming etc. when required.
