I joined College Manor in August of 2018 with a background in team management having worked in the veterinary field for a number of years and as a group exercise coordinator prior to that. Having worked in the fitness field for many, many years made the transition easy to the veterinary field, with my experience in customer service and management combined with my very outgoing personality and love of animals.
I have a particular interest in making your pet's visits to our clinic as anxiety-free as possible. I completed my "Fear Free Certification" in October of 2017 and continue to work on "taking the pet out of petrified." My goal is to help our clients find the tools to not only look after their pet's physical health but their emotional health as well.
In my spare time, you can find me at the gym or hiking or hanging out with my family. I live in Newmarket with my 2 children and 2 cats, Steve Irwin and Mindi and our Balled Python Kia.
Fear Free Certified – educated on reducing fear and anxiety in animals and promoting practices that ensure pets’ well-being.
Do you know the most common disease in dogs and cats? It is not liver or kidney disease, or even thyroid disease. It is dental disease! Did you know that dental disease affects over 80% of dogs over the age of 3 years, and between 50-90% of cats over 4 years?
With recent changes to restrictions on businesses, we are pleased to advise that effective May 19, 2020 some restrictions on veterinary practices have been lifted. Based on these changes, below are some important updates to our operating policies.
1. WE CAN NOW SEE ALL CASES BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
This includes vaccines, wellness exams, blood work, heartworm testing, spays and neuters, dental services, and more!
2. SAFETY MEASURES TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE
Continue our "closed waiting room" policy to protect our clients and staff. When you arrive, please remain outside the hospital and use your cell phone to call 905.853.4706. We will take a history of your pet's health and discuss any concerns. A staff member will then meet you outside to bring your pet into the hospital for an examination. The Veterinarian will call you to discuss the recommended treatment plan. After your appointment, a staff member will return your pet to you outside, and take care of any needed medications and payment.
Continue the use of credit cards as the preferred payment method.
Note: Due to the continued health precautions recommended by Health Canada, we have elected to discontinue 'in clinic' pick-ups for items ordered via our Online Store including both medications and food with immediate effect. The delivery option is extremely flexible and they will deliver wherever you choose.
3. OPERATING HOURS
We are OPEN with the following hours:
Monday - Thursday: 8:00 am - 7:00 pm Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Saturday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Sunday: CLOSED
